Out Performers Team Leader Makes a Splash

Out Performers Engineering Team Leader Tristan Bray is no stranger to efficiency. While his workdays are spent improving energy efficiency for his clients, his spare time is spent improving his efficiency in the pool, where Tristan recently represented Australia at the World OutGames in Miami, Florida.

Training upwards of 40 kilometres a week since January, and usually 5 - 7 kilometres before work, Tristan was joined by 27 other Australian master' swimmers at the games, which kicked off on 26 May.

The 10-day event brought together thousands of participants, spectators and thought leaders from around the world and featured more than than 450 events spanning sport, culture and human rights.

As a middle distance swimmer, Tristan's main event was the 400-metre freestyle, where he placed 9th and achieved a personal best time. He also competed in the 200-metre freestyle (7th place) and 800-metre freestyle (9th place), as we as the individual medley, where he placed 3rd and notched up another personal best!

Tristan is president of Wett Ones Swimming Club based at the University of Sydney, which placed 8th on the club point score at the games, behind seven America teams. All up the games' swimming events attracted 24 countries and around 480 swimmers, with Australia taking out 3rd place behind USA and Canada.

Tristan enjoyed having time to focus purely on his swimming. "After six months of living a double life as part-engineer and part athlete, it was great to live the athlete life for a few weeks and see all that training pay off!" he said.

Everyone at Out Performers congratulates Tristan on his dedication and outstanding performance. His success is throughly deserved and we are very proud indeed!
