VEET Scheme Extended for Five Years

25 August 2015

Victorians will have another five years to create certificates under the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme, as the scheme has been extended for a further five years, to 2020. The scheme has also been bolstered and the number of certificates that can be created annually will be gradually increased by 20% over the same period.

These changes were welcomed by industry stakeholders at Victoria’s first Energy Efficiency and Productivity Summit, where Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy in the Victorian Andrews’ Labor Government, first announced the changes.

Minister D’Ambrosio outlined her government’s approach to the scheme expansion: “Together, energy efficiency and clean energy supports Victoria’s transition to be a sustainable economy, while lowering costs and creating jobs.”
